Travel Advice for Singapore Citizens
Information for Singaporeans travelling abroad
If you are a Singapore citizen and are travelling overseas, you should bear in mind the following:
- Ensure that your passport is valid for at least the next 6 months. You should also ensure that your passport is in a good condition and that the pages are not torn or missing before your departure. A passport which appears to have been tampered with could cause you a great deal of inconvenience at a foreign checkpoint, including refusal of entry.
- Ensure that you have the required visa to the country that you are travelling to. You may visit the Consular Information section of Ministry of Foreign Affairs website at www.mfa.gov.sg to obtain more information on visa requirements and overseas consular offices.
- Ensure proper custody of your own passport. You are advised to keep your passport with you at all times to prevent it from being stolen or tampered with.
- Check your passport and immigration endorsements upon arrival at and departure from place of visit. If there is any discrepancy found, you should liaise with the Police or immigration authority in the foreign country.
