Hotels in Singapore
Singapore may have started its days as a humbling trading post but today it is a thriving, busy and magical city. It sits as a half-way point between East and West and as such is a frequent stopover destination, as well as a place of interest in its own right. Its appeal comes from its people, who are friendly and welcoming, its mix of cultural contrasts and its never-ending energy and excitement that bursts out of every street corner.
As with any popular travel destination, Singapore has a variety of hotels. In fact, the city teems with them and many are of the skyscraper variety as this small country desperately looks for extra space to accommodate its visitors. However, for those who want to experience of the culture of Singapore rather than just feel as if they are in just another city, Singapore has a few gems. There are hotels hidden in historical buildings and others that are examples of modern architecture that will take your breath away.

Deluxe is definitely on the menu or go for the chandelier style of the Brunei Suite. Self-contained suites known as Parklane Suites are available on a split level and have a distinctive jazzy feel. Sitting on the edge of the sought-after Robertson Quay area, this budget to mid-range hotel at first glance looks like a lighthouse or a medieval castle tower. It is ideally situated for walking to the downtown area as well as the Quays, which more than makes up for the slightly small though nicely furnished rooms. It features a rooftop swimming pool surrounded by boulders, offering great views. This hotel is hard to beat for location and price. |
