The highest point in the Hindu calendar, Deepavali (13 November this year) commemorates Lord Krishna's defeat of the demon Narakasura. For weeks, Little India celebrates the triumph of light (symbolising the forces of good) over darkness (evil) with brilliantly lit streets ano festive activities.

Experience the splendour of the Festival of Lights as you take in the sights and sounds of the most important festival for the Hindus. Deepavali is the celebration of the triumph of good over evil and Little India will sparkle with a colourful street light-up.

Deepavali Event Celebrations

Join in the Deepavali Switch-On Ceremony on 7 Oct and revel in the fun and gaiety of the Deepavali Street Parade on 30 Oct. There is also a Deepavali Countdown Concert on 4th Nov.

Marking the Hindu Festival of Lights, Little India explodes with colours and lights as well as stalls offering a variety of garments, costumes, jewellery and accessories. Indulge in Indian customs such as traditional henna painting to get into the festive spirit.
