Sentosa IslandSingapore's most entertaining getaway - SentosaLocation: Sentosa Island (South) Singapore’s premier island resort, Sentosa, offers the spectacular Songs of the Sea laser, light and sound show, as well as other funfilled activities like the Sentosa Luge and Skyride, Sentosa 4D Magix and CineBlast. Climb to the top of the 37-metre tall Merlion to view Singapore’s impressive skyline. A day may not be enough for you to appreciate Singapore's little island getaway. Sentosa's attractions cater to everybody and there's never a moment when you will run out of things to do or see - whether you're here for your honeymoon or a family get-together; for just a lazy day on the beach or an educational exploration. One of the latest of these attractions is the Tiger Sky Tower - an elevated 360-degree viewing deck. For more scenic views, go to the Mouth Gallery Viewing Deck of the Merlion, the icon of Singapore. A favourite among visitors, the Merlion's 320 scales of glass-reinforced concrete shimmer with dazzling colours at night. For military history enthusiasts, visit the World War II bunkers, underground passages and cannons of Fort Siloso. If you want a close encounter with the marine kind, come to the Underwater World, one of the biggest oceanariums in Asia. Alternatively, visit the Night Ocean or the Dolphin Lagoon featuring pink dolphins. If you seek the thrill of having 2,500 butterflies flying around you, come and see the Butterfly Park. Displays of other insects can be found at the adjacent Insect Kingdom, which is home to 3,000 rare species and 5,000 fireflies. A trek along the Nature Walk / Dragon Trail provides encounters with monitor lizards, spotted doves and long-tailed macaques. And if you want real action, test your nerves and bearing at the Flying Trapeze in Rasa Sentosa Resort. How about some furious spins at a 650-metre luge in Sentosa Luge? Or why not experience a state-of-the-art interactive experience at Sentosa 4D Magix? If you've had enough of excitement, relax and unwind at the Spa Botanica. If you plan to stay the night on Sentosa, check into any one of the hotels, offering a choice of luxury, family and chalet-type accommodation. In the evening, watch the nightly attraction water jets, lasers, special computer imaging, and stunning flame bursts set against dramatic music. The home of world-class leisure and living in Singapore. Where sun-kissed beach haven meets shopping paradise, chic nightlife mingles with the wonders of nature. Everything you could ask for, all on one location. Set on the Southern coast of Singapore, Sentosa is a thriving waterfront hub with something for everyone and any idea of pleasure. For some outdoor rest and relaxation, head to the island resort of Sentosa and take your pick from its three beaches. Soak up the sun, sea and some solitude at tranquil Tanjong Beach or partake in beach activities like canoeing, cycling or rollerblading at Siloso Beach. You can also chill out at Palawan Beach which boasts several beach bars and eateries. Sentosa is easily accessible by public transport and is within minutes from the heart of town. |

At Underwater World Singapore, a 'voyage to the bottom of the sea' begins at the water’s edge, with shallow rock turtle and ray pools. Be greeted next by brightly colored corals and exotic ocean dwellers (including moray eels, sea dragons and jelly fishes) before you embark on a spectacular underwater journey through our 83-metre-long moving travelator with a tunnel housing the majestic rays, fearsome sharks, great shoals of other fishes and a host of other creatures that inhabit the ocean depths.

The Underwater World also includes a Dolphin Lagoon which is home to some Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins, also known as the pink dolphins. Several "Meet-the-Dolphins" sessions are held daily to allow visitors to enter the waist-deep pool and interact with the dolphins at close proximity. A more involved "Swim-with-the-Dolphins' program, where visitors can interact extensively with the dolphins, is also available

The Sentosa Monorail circled Sentosa until it closed in 2005. Most of the island monorail was dismantled though parts of the original track structure still remain. The monorail was replaced by the red, blue and yellow bus lines. The Sentosa Express from the main island of Singapore to Sentosa still remains in service.
