Chiangi is Singapore`s airport and when you land you will find yourself eight hours ahead of GMT. Getting from the cities Chiangi airport is not difficult. Taxi`s can be found outside all the Terminal buildings but can also be booked through the destination hotel. Public buses run from Terminals 1,2 and 3 and the train service operates below Terminals 1 and 2. The public transports all take you into the city centre. Airport shuttles can be booked from the airport website and the almost compulsory array of car rental options are available in the arrivals hall.. The airport also offers a Ground Transport Desk which will help you with any queries or problems you have on arrival. There is plenty to do and see once you are settled in Singapore; Stenosa Island offers attractions for all the family from theme parks, nature trails and restaurants to an aquarium where you can swim with the dolphins. A cable car will allow you to take in the stunning vista of the city and harbour. Another island with a different appeal is Pulau Ubin; this will show you life as it was years ago, the only form of transport is the bicycle and it lets you see into the heart of the rural life. Locals believe the island is haunted as rumour has it that prisoners were brought here in WW2 to be tortured. Singapore also has a Zoo, A "Night safari" and numerous options to dive around the coastline which offers a selection of beautiful beaches to chose from. The native resident of Singapore has two main pastimes, shopping and eating, so there is always almost too much choice on offer. From lush shopping malls to old narrow streets and a huge variety of eating options Singapore will make sure your nights are filled. Getting around Singapore is no problem, there are buses and a trolley system, but bare in mind that many of the buses are not air conditioned. Singapore is one of the cleanest cities in the world and the public transport maintains that image.
